Trust the Turn

“Trust the Turn” is a short essay on using the turn to focus revision in the poetry writing workshop.

“Trust the Turn” was selected as one of the top pedagogy papers at the 2009 AWP conference.  It is reprinted (with slight alterations) in Poets on Teaching: A Sourcebook, edited by Joshua Marie Wilkinson (Iowa City, IA: U of Iowa P, 2010).
